The manor was built in 1927 by the Zurstrassen family, wool merchants from Verviers. In the 1960’s it was transformed into a little boy’s boarding school.
In 1989, the manor was taken over by Michel en Agnes Lafarque who gave it its current shape. Hostellerie Lafarque rapidly became a renowned temple of Belgian gastronomy.
After the passing away of Michel Lafarque, his wife Agnes continued the activities at first, but in October 2007, the estate was sold to its current owner.
